Hand-drawn master plans, planting schedules and 3D concept renderings tailored to your site, soil and the way you actually live outside.
Learn more →Wildcat Hollow is a small landscape design studio in West Lake Hills creating native, drought-aware gardens, patios and outdoor rooms for homeowners across the Austin Hill Country.
From the first sketch to the seasonal pruning visit four years later — we stay with our gardens for the long arc.
Hand-drawn master plans, planting schedules and 3D concept renderings tailored to your site, soil and the way you actually live outside.
Learn more →Limestone patios, cedar pergolas, outdoor kitchens and stone fireplaces engineered for Texas weather and built by our masonry team.
Learn more →We grow roughly 70 % of the plants on each project at our small backyard nursery, so they arrive site-acclimated and root-ready.
Learn more →Smart-controller drip systems zoned by hydro-zone, designed to use less water year three than your old spray rotors used in week one.
Learn more →Low-voltage LED lighting designs that uplight your live oaks, glow your pathways and disappear into the planting by daylight.
Learn more →Quarterly maintenance visits by the same designer who drew your plan. Pruning, mulch refresh, irrigation tune-ups and seasonal swaps.
Learn more →A small selection of recent residential projects across Westlake, Rollingwood, Bee Cave and Lakeway. Every project on this site was designed by Andrew and installed by our in-house crew.
Wildcat Hollow was founded in 2016 by Andrew Thiede, a Texas-licensed landscape designer who grew up tending his grandmother's caliche garden in San Marcos. After a decade working for larger Austin firms, Andrew started Wildcat Hollow with a single rule: take only as many projects as one designer can stay personally involved in.
Nine years later that rule still holds. We finish 14–18 gardens a year, no more. Every plan is hand-drawn before it is digitised. Every site gets at least three visits before a single shovel goes in. And every client works directly with Andrew from first phone call to final walk-through.
Read the studio storyAndrew listened more than he talked. The garden he drew up was so obviously ours that we cried a little when we saw the rendering. Three summers in and the agaves are taller than my husband.
We spent two years interviewing landscape architects in Austin. Wildcat Hollow was the only studio that asked about how we cook outside before showing us a plant list. That told us everything.
Our water bill dropped 38% the first full year on the new drip system. The garden looks better than the over-watered lawn ever did. Worth every dollar.
Practical, opinionated essays on designing for Central Texas — written by Andrew between site visits, not by a marketing agency.
We currently accept new design projects in West Lake Hills, Rollingwood, Bee Cave, Lakeway and Westlake. The first conversation is on the phone, free of charge, and rarely shorter than thirty minutes.
